Profile: Love gardening, wildlife and all things natural, unless it's hair or make-up, in which case bring on the chemicals! Tendency to sing and dance round the kitchen when cooking, but teenage daughter keeps me in check. I've worked at TLH for longer than I care to dwell on but have seen so many changes it's been like working for 3 or 4 different companies! I am now in Sales and involved in spreading the word about how much there is for local people to do here. I also co-ordinate PR and various other projects that get thrown my way.

In fact, studies have shown that learning new skills can help fend off dementia and ease depression. ... read the rest of "Benefits of Lifelong Learning"

Written by Vicky on 20th October 2011

Boot Camp – sounds terrifying doesn’t it?! It definitely has overtones of military training or correctional facilities and conjures up images of extreme exercise, denial and general misery! Originally the term ‘boot camp’ was used by the military and incorporated the initial indoctrination and instruction given to new military personnel. Often, but not always, it ... read the rest of "Kick-Start to 2012 with Fit Camp in Torquay!"
