Chris B’s Weekly Alberts Report

Hello from me – Chris Brimmicombe, Albert’s Bar Supervisor with this weeks update from Alberts Bar – one of Torquay’s top spots for a great night out!

Karaoke Nights
Chris Jackson, Albert’s Bar resident Karaoke man and former front man from Joey and the Lips is with us every Thursday and Saturday from 8.30pm.

Following on from a great few nights of sport on our big screen. Chris Jackson took over the stage to give us another great night of karaoke. This week saw the return of many of our popular locals dropping in for the night to sing one of their favorites. And not to mention a great crowd on holiday who came in and really lit the place up, so a huge shout out to all the crew from Swansea.

Every karaoke night we love to give away prizes in Albert’s and Thursday was no exception Chris gave away three prizes of Complimentary drinks at the bar to these lucky three for there great efforts on the night.

Heading for another great night of karaoke here at Alberts at TLH Leisure Resort, Chris Jackson took over the stage again last Saturday. With a full bar of lots and lots of people wanting to sing, and with a choice of 5000 plus songs we didn’t find it hard to find volunteers to get up and have a go.

Joining us for the night were a great crowd who were staying in the bay having come all the way from Ireland to take part in a darts championship. Having them join us for the night was fantastic, and from me and all the Albert’s crew – good luck for next week when they travel to London for the finals.

Every Saturday we hold our singing competition. This week we had an Oasis round and the three competing were.
- Mike: Don’t look back in anger
-Carol: Wonderwall
-Dennis: Little by Little.

After a very hard decision we announced the winner.  So congratulations Mike who pulled out all the stops to become our Saturday night Champion. Well done.

Next week to kick off the festive season and get in the spirit we will be holding a Christmas Competition from “Jingle Bells” to “Silent night”. Take part and be in with the chance to walk away with a bottle of our rose house wine.

Jonathan Mark
You can catch Jonathan every Friday night at 9.30pm in Albert’s. This week we had a huge crowd from Wales join us for the night – they were fantastic, all up for a laugh giving Albert’s such a buzz. We all hope to see them again. And just a quick well done from me to Jonathan,  who really gave his all and sang his heart out. If you haven’t had chance to see Jonathan yet come down and listen first hand this great voice.

And a few words from Jonathan himself: Last Friday was incredible; to see so many people having fun dancing and singing along makes it such a pleasure for me to perform.  Albert’s is a pub that’s always has such a friendly atmosphere, away from the busy nightclubs where you can really sit, relax and enjoy yourself, with Chris and the team providing a great service behind the bar. Don’t miss out on Friday nights, and I look forward to performing some new songs when I see you next.
