Latest Bowling News from TLH Leisure Resort – the South West's Number 1 bowling venue

Written by Terri on 13th April 2010

Hi – Terri here – Bowling Sales Executive with my regular Blog on what is happening at TLH and what is happening to me! I love this strange sport that we play and it never fails to give me a laugh. If you have read any of my other blogs, you’ll understand. Please feel free to blog back to me – I would welcome your feedback.

England President brings her annual tour to TLH

Irene Godfrey the EIBA Ladies President brought her tour to the Carlton Hotel in March. Irene says ‘It was a lovely tour and I couldn’t have been treated better. Everyone worked so hard to ensure that it was a huge success, and it was’

Pictured below is Irene with her tourists during a visit to the Babbacombe Model Village, whose owner Simon Wills made a £150 donation to Irene’s chosen charity – the Simon Paul Foundation who supply equipment to assist disabled people to lead a normal life.

Why don’t you bring a tour to Torquay in Devon  – our indoor arena is second to none, and there are some excellent outdoor greens in and around Torbay. For further information on touring call me Terri Kennard on 01803 400108

EIBA TOP CLUB

This mixed competition was my brainchild. It was designed to compliment the amalgamation of the two indoor associations as well as compliment the other two National Top Club competitions that TLH sponsors.

Consultations with the EIBA started in 2008, and the competition was introduced into the 2009/10 National Bowling Calendar. 102 teams entered and TLH hosted the finals, which saw the last 8 play in a straight knockout to the winners.

Easter Bowls Festival

The Easter Festival is a great little tournament. It’s competitive, but it is very enjoyable. I was delighted to see that Wiltshire Youth had entered 3 teams – these youngsters are coached at Westlecot IBC in Swindon and they are a credit to their coach. Their behaviour and etiquette on the green is exemplary.

Coming up soon: News on the Toorak Pairs results, Short Mat Festival and our Special Disabled Bowling Weekend.

That’s all for now folks
