Outdoor Bowling on the English Riviera
Written by Terri on 28th April 2010It is now the beginning of the outdoor season and TLH has broken all records with the numbers of outdoor touring sides coming to our Hotels in Devon this summer season.
It’s a busy time for everyone as the summer does seem to be short. National and County event have to be squeezed into an 11 week timescale if you want to qualify for the Nationals. This year my little team will be defending our County Triples title and also hoping to qualify for Leamington again, we are not fussy, any discipline will do as long as we get there again in something. It keeps our other halves and Mother’s happy as they get a small holiday into the bargain as well as watching us play our favourite sport. (Even my cats get a break, they to go to Moggy Heights for a few days allowing the slow worms and mice in the area to de-stress)
We also look forward to hosting the National Ladies Top Club of which 319 clubs from all over the County have entered. Last year Kings BC, of Torquay were crowned champions and here they are celebrating.
In the men’s Top Club 706 entries were received by Bowls England.
Last year saw Boscombe Cliff BC take home the Champions Trophy, and here they are pictured with Laurence Murrell, TLH’s Managing Director.
TLH is proud to sponsor these two prestigious competitions and watches closely all the rounds leading up to the finals. Although not a bowler himself, Laurence is very knowledgeable on the subject of bowls and takes a great interest in all the events that TLH is involved with.
We would like to wish all the clubs (including my own – Newton Abbot) all the very best of luck for the Ladies and Men’s events this year. We look forward to seeing the successful finalists at TLH in September and at Worthing in August.
So Bowlers, wherever you are, have a great season out there on grass. Good luck in all your ventures.
If you want to talk to me about touring at TLH, Summer or Winter, please blog back to me or call me on 01803 400108. I will be pleased to talk to you about availability and what TLH can offer your group, whether you’re looking for a bowls holiday or just a bit of a game while you’re here.
If you want a WOW factor Bowls Holiday TLH is the place for you.
