Civil Wedding Ceremonies

Having your wedding ceremony with us in the hotel is a lovely way of keeping everyone together and makes your arrangements much simpler – no transport to and from the church; easy to nip back to your room if you forget something and of course your guests can relax in comfort while those all-important photographs are taken.

The following rooms at TLH Leisure Resort are licensed for civil marriages:

Toorak Hotel - Chatsworth Room, Arlington Room, Buckingham and Rougemont Rooms
Victoria Hotel - Warwick Ballroom, Richmond Lounge and Windsor Cocktail Bar
Carlton Hotel - Riviera Ballroom and Madison Room

As soon as you have provisionally booked your wedding with us, we advise you to contact the Superintendent Registrar at Oldway Mansion - 01803 207076. Booking with the Superintendent Registrar is advised at the earliest opportunity. A fee is payable to the Registrar’s office before the ceremony.

Once your booking with the Superintendent Registrar is confirmed, then confirmation can be made with TLH Leisure Resort. A deposit of £400 will be required at this stage.

A room hire charge of £400 will be made for use of the room, including a standard room layout with top table.

Equipment to play CD’s will be provided and controlled by us. Any music selected to be played must be approved by the Superintendent Registrar, and you will need to supply 7 music tracks:

3 tracks for guests entering the ceremony
1 track for Bride’s entrance
2 tracks for background whilst signing the register
1 track for Bride & Groom’s exit

Only a Civil, non-religious ceremony is permitted by the Superintendent Registrar and any music, reading, words, or performance, which form any part of the ceremony, must be secular. The content of the ceremony must be agreed in advance with the Superintendent Registrar who will be attending the ceremony.
