Philip Wylie

Philip is very well known in the dancing world particularly for organising the English Riviera Dance Festival held in Torquay which started in 1982.

He hosts several Modern Ballroom and Latin dance breaks here at TLH for all levels with demonstrations, dance improvement sessions, movement, styling and floorcraft plus special programmes for 'Learn to Dance' for complete beginners in easy, friendly, fun sessions.

Chris Booth with Eric and Lynda Dodd

Chris Booth, together with Eric and Lynda Dodd, were new to TLH in 2005 and have a tremendous following in Modern Sequence dance circles.

Chris is a well-known broadcast and recording organist and has been playing for 30 years, whilst Eric and Lynda have been dancing for over 20 years and are members of the former English Amateur Dance Squad.

Gary and Tricia Fleetwood

Gary and Tricia are experienced, qualified dance teachers and have been bringing groups and hosting dance breaks here at TLH for many years. They host three very successful weekend Ballroom and Latin dance breaks each year.

Gary and Tricia are also credited as being inventors of 21 prize winning dances including the Sindy Swing.

Sid and Roz Gateley

Sid and Roz are regular favourites here at TLH. They bring their usual brand of fun and entertainment to their popular social dance breaks with a mid-week and a weekend break every year.

Sid, an ex-band leader, and his wife Roz entertain guests at TLH over the New Year period and also host many party nights and Dinner and Dances for locals.

Chris Jackson

Chris is a professional dance instructor and a member of the United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Dance Instructors. He has been a linedance instructor for over 8 years and has held classes in hotels throughout Torbay and has also run linedance weekends in this country and abroad. Chris loves all forms of dance, from Salsa and Sequence, Ballroom and Tap to Belly and Barn, Hip-Hop and Jazz. His style of teaching is patient and understanding, remembering how he felt when he was learning the basics of timing, rhythm and technique

Clive and Samantha Keay

Clive and Samantha are professional dance teachers who run their own successful dance school in the Midlands teaching Modern Ballroom and Latin.

Originally they worked on cruise liners where they taught dancing for 10 years. They have a relaxed approach towards their dance classes making them fun to learn.

Ted and Elaine Kirby

Ted and Elaine have been bringing groups and hosting dance breaks here at TLH for many years. They have over 20 years experience and are qualified dance teachers and championship adjudicators.

They host a Pre-Easter and a Pre-Christmas Modern Sequence dance break every year.

Wendy Mumford

Wendy is new to TLH and has recently hosted a successful Scottish Country dance break.

Wendy is an experienced teacher from Winchester and is RSCDS trained.

Pam Peters

Pam hosts some of our Modern Ballroom and Latin breaks for Beginners. Pam is a professional teacher and has worked alongside with Philip Wylie for the English Riviera Dance Festival for many years.

Pam will make sure you have fun whilst learning and improving on the basic steps to popular dances.

Brian and Hilary Powe

Brian and Hilary, experienced qualified dance teachers, are a local couple who have a loyal following with their Modern Sequence dance breaks here at TLH.

They host two Modern Sequence dance breaks each year and also host alongside Kevin of KB Sounds on some of the Party and Social dance breaks and Santa's Dance.

KB Sounds

Kevin is our resident entertainer and due to his popularity with the guests he hosts his own social dance breaks each year.

As an all round party entertainer he will make sure a good time is had by all, adapting to each and every audience.

James and Claire Taplin

James and Claire Taplin are professional dance teachers from Southampton and host some of our Ballroom and Latin dance breaks for beginners and improvers.

Their programme is specially designed with 'Learn and Improve' teaching sessions during the day. They are a brilliant way to acquire fun, enjoyable and practical get up and dance know how.

Gerald and Margaret Thompson

Gerald and Margaret Thompson have been coming to TLH for many years and are former Modern Ballroom competitive dancers who retired from the world of competition dancing and qualified as professional teachers of dance.

They are well know in the dancing world and have worked very closely with Philip Wylie at the English Riviera Dance Festival and other dance breaks.

Richard Wynne

Richard, of Sierra County Line Dancing, hosts our Learn To Line Dance breaks here at TLH. Richard has been involved in dance in one form or another for more than 25 years. He started out as a square dancer then moved into calling and teaching.

He opened their first club 15 years ago and is now in full time D.J’ing as well as teaching at competition level. He is regularly asked to teach at major festivals and judges at many competitions.
