The Prince’s Trust – ‘Get into Hospitality’ Chefing

The aim of the programme this year was to help young people who have expressed an interest in a career working in a kitchen to have opportunity of gaining the experience and to encourage this ambition within them. Unfortunately there has been a decline in young people wanting to follow a career in Chefing and we saw this as great opportunity to raise profiles for this career.

Dementia Training Raises Awareness Amongst Hotel Staff

In recent years the Alzheimer’s Society have been campaigning to raise awareness of Dementia and break down the pre-conceptions that society may have regarding the disease. There are currently 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK.

To give our staff a better understanding of people living with Dementia, we recently invited the OCP Training Company to come along and deliver pilot training sessions for our Managers, covering the topic of Dementia awareness.

Simply talking about dementia raises awareness amongst hotel staff so we were excited to see what the sessions would bring. Continue reading
