When you take a look at Steph Cant’s “Before & After” photos she is living proof that fitness classes, healthy eating and a positive mental attitude can make a huge difference to the way you look and feel. Steph – we are so proud of you and we’re delighted that the Aztec Studio in Torquay has given you support along the way.
We had a chat with Steph and hopefully our Q & A session will help to inspire you to achieve your fitness goals.
When did you join the Aztec Studio?
How many fitness classes do you attend a week?
4 classes a week (Mon-Thur evenings) Kettles, two Zumba classes and Body Blitz – you can watch a video clip of Body Blitz below.
Which are your favourite fitness classes?
They are all excellent and I’ve tried almost all of the other classes too but my favourite has to be Zumba! It’s so much fun and a great laugh. Body Blitz and Kettles are brilliant too! The Aztec instructors are incredible!
What made you decide to join the Aztec Studio?
After Christmas 2015 I stepped on the scales for the first time in a while and I was shocked at my weight! I felt so unhealthy. I was so unfit and even going upstairs was a struggle. This was the point I decided enough was enough and I needed to do something about it.
I wanted an affordable membership that would keep me motivated. Previously my motivation used to be awful and I would always give up if I was doing anything by myself. I found the new Aztec Studio membership was amazing value for money and being in a class with an enthusiastic instructor, I knew my motivation issue would be dealt with! And I’m still gob-smacked at my result in just three months!!
Did you make any changes to your diet? If so what did you do?
My diet before was disgraceful, I would scoff anything I could when I felt hungry. And even when I wasn’t hungry I would just snack on unhealthy things because I was bored.
I now make sure I eat plenty of fruit and veg. I eat plenty of lean meat and try my best to cut out unnecessary fat or sugars. I love fish and so try to eat fish as often as I can! And I try to snack on fruit or nuts throughout the day to curb any hunger pains!
Of course everyone does need a treat every now and then, otherwise I’d go insane ,and so I allow myself small treats and a glass of wine or two occasionally. It’s all about balance and moderation. I’ve recreated my relationship with food since January and I now have so much energy and feel so much better on the inside as well as beginning to look better on the outside!
