This May Bank Holiday weekend is set to be a very busy time within the Torquay area. Hopefully the weather will be great too especially as this weekend hosts the BMAD Bike Festival!
What is BMAD Bike Festival 2017? (Bikers Make a Difference)
The May Bank Holiday weekend each year brings a spectacle for all ages with the BMAD Bike Festival (which actually stands for Bikers Make a Difference). Started in 2002, bikers decided to arrange a social event on the beach to raise money for local charities. Each year, Paignton Green is transformed into a bike paradise with a thrilling mix that will appeal to everyone, whether they have an interest in motorbikes or not. The festival has grown in size and is now a major event in the Torquay calendar and attracts bikers, both local and from all over the UK. The festival features live music, stunts, a beer tent, more stalls than you can shake a Harley Davidson at and the stars of the show: the motorbikes.
All the money raised at both the Wednesday Bike Nights and the Festival go to charities, which include – sick and disabled/disadvantaged children and their families/carers in the TQ postcode area, Young Carers, Blood Bikes, Devon Air Ambulance and St John Ambulance. In addition they have given to individuals that benefit from extra support.
