7 Reasons to Come on our Strictly Beginners Dance Weekend

dance_ballroomlatin14 Okay, so we’ve all been there. It’s Saturday night and we’re watching our favourite Strictly stars doing their very best to learn a host of different and ever complicating dances and we say to ourselves… “I would love to be able to do that”. Some of you, if at all like myself, would have even jumped out of your seats to show the family your ‘dance’ moves on the living room floor, only to be told, in Craig Revel Horwood fashion “That was an absolute disaster darling” and encouraged to sit back down.

Well this could all change. If I told you that you could stop wishing and start learning to dance, from a complete beginner’s level, whilst enjoying the delights of the English Riviera, what would you say? Read on, and I’m sure by the end, your answer will be “Yes, where do I sign up?”

We so often hear Len Goodman shout “SEVEN” on the popular ITV show, so here are seven reasons even he would agree with, to convince you to take part in our Strictly Beginners Dance Weekend:

  1. Learn To Dance With an Experienced Host

Phillip Hurst is an official compere and host at Blackpool Tower, with over 20 year’s experience! His competitive dancing career saw him achieve many accolades as well as impressing talent scouts and being recruited for a starring role in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Evita. Turning his attention away from the competitive circuit, where he competed for 12 years, Phillip teamed up with his partner Kathryn, to form hurstdance.co.uk and P&K Hurts Dance Studios and has never looked back.

New to TLH in 2014, their dance breaks have been very popular so you can rest assured you are in great hands.

  1. Meet Like-Minded Dance Enthusiasts

Meet like-minded dancers from absolute beginners to beginner levels of up to six months and learn together in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The Strictly Beginners Weekend Break is exactly that… so you don’t have to worry about being the novice of the group and instead, just simply enjoy the experience and have fun.T-066

  1. Learn a Host of Fun Dancing Styles in our Stunning Richmond Ballroom

Learn not one, not two but a whole host of dance styles including Latin in-line, Waltz, Quickstep, Cha cha, Rumba, Samba, Tango and Social Foxtrot. Structured dance tuition coupled with open practise sessions, means that you can practise a dance that you particularly enjoy, or brush up on the dance moves you struggle to remember.

  1. Enjoy the Full Strictly Experience with our Black Tie Evening

After a full day of tuition, it’s time to put what you have learnt to the test. Christmas dance breakGlam yourselves and show off your new moves at our black tie evening. Our Richmond ballroom comes alive in the evening (the fully stocked bar helps) and the Canadian maple sprung flooring gives you that extra spring in your step so that you can happily dance the night away, before retiring to the comfort of your room.

  1. Enjoy some down time in our Aztec Spa

Couple in Aztec Spa TorquayDancing on Saturday morning doesn’t start until 10.30am which gives you enough time to enjoy a relaxing morning swim, or perhaps a treatment in the Aztec Spa. We are confident that you won’t find the same high quality facilities and range of treatments that we have to offer anywhere else in Devon, so make the most of it whilst you are here and book yourself in for a treat.

  1. Dancing is a Great way to Keep Fit

We all know that exercise is an important factor to staying fit and healthy but sometimes lack the motivation to get out and do something. Dancing is a fun and sometimes effortless way of exercising so could really spark the beginning of your fitness journey. Our previous blog post – 6 Reasons Why Dancing Is Good For You goes into more detail on the health benefits of dancing.

  1. Ignite your Passion for Dance and Prove you have what it takes

The last but no means least of my seven reasons, is to ignite your passion for dancing that has been simmering inside, waiting for the opportunity to show itself! It’s too easy for us to sit on the sofa every week watching the likes of Pasha and Aliona, showing us how effortless and easy it seems to be able to dance impeccably in front of millions of viewers. It’s too easy to read this blog and think I’d like to give it a go but maybe next time. And it’s too easy to listen to your family when they tell you to stop getting in the way of the TV and sit down when you’re trying to show them your best moves.Christmas dance breaks

Here is your opportunity to finally prove to yourself that you are capable of learning to dance and enjoying the countless benefits that comes with it! If after reading this, your answer to my earlier question is “yes, where do I sign up?” call our reservations team on 01803 400500 quoting reference number 21307 to book yourself onto the dancing break.
