TLH Leisure Resort is popular with all generations and some families have visited us year upon year bringing the children and then their grandchildren! Sometimes though, chance meetings here can lead to true fairy tale endings as the first story in our ‘True Love Happens’ series proves.
We recently received a letter from Angela Nicholls and Tony Brindley who first started visiting TLH in 2005.
“I found myself divorced and left with two young children (ages 7 & 10) with all of us needing a holiday.” Angela begins. “I was recommended to TLH by a work colleague and booked accordingly for a week in August. A great time was had, especially by the children. I rebooked for the following year as the children had made a few friends who were also returning.”
After returning again 2006, she re-booked for the following year to meet up with some friends they had made, including a friend called George Brindley. The following year, Angela was joined by her mother who also had such a great time, she too wanted to return again. The children still went off to meet with George again.
Angela continues. “The big year was in 2008. All four of us returned, however this time after pulling into the carpark, both kids wanted to rush off to meet George, whom they had met the previous years. After challenging my son, my mother established that George was on holiday with his dad as he was also divorced! We were in different hotels (I was in the Toorak, Tony was in the Derwent) but met up in the Derwent lounge after our evening meals.”
She explains how she and Tony got on extremely well and booked for the following year. They stayed in contact even though Tony lived in Staffordshire and she lived in Surrey. The relationship continued and they returned every year to TLH right up until 2013.
Angela’s mother’s 80th birthday, in 2014, meant celebration abroad, but in 2015 they returned to TLH. From then on, they have been visiting TLH (sometimes with their children and other occasions on their own) to have their annual Holiday. “We love all aspects of the place. Yet again, Tony & myself are due to return August 2018.”
The final fairytale ending to this TLH Love Story is that Angela and Tony are now engaged to be married next year. Angela sums up what TLH means to her: “We cannot thank TLH enough. The whole experience with our children through to young adults and providing us with our future together as husband and wife. We also know that our children have said that when they have children of their own, TLH is where they will come!”
