Our very own IT Systems Coordinator, Samuel Fellows, is transforming from keyboard warrior, to Aztec Warrior as he represents our Aztec Gym at Torquay’s Ultra White Collar Charity Boxing event in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Committed to the Cause
In signing up, Samuel has committed to raising a minimum of £50 for Cancer Research UK (donated by the Aztec Gym) as well as selling a minimum of 20 tickets to the event which is on Friday 16th July 2021 at the Riviera International Centre, just across the road from our TLH Victoria Hotel. Samuel has no previous boxing experience and has already begun a gruelling training programme to prepare.
What is UWCB?
Ultra White Collar Boxing (UWCB) is a unique opportunity for people with no boxing background to experience the wonderful world of boxing, in a safe and enjoyable environment, whilst raising money for Cancer Research UK and getting in great shape! Here’s a sneak peak of what to expect:
Raising Money for Cancer Research UK
UWCB events raise money for Cancer Research UK, who are the world’s largest charity dedicated to saving lives through research. Their vision is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. If you want to help by simply donating what you can, via Samuel’s just giving page.
Training twice weekly at Fightworx Gym in Torquay, Samuel has also been hitting the gym in his spare time, in order to prepare for his bout. As his training progresses he will then be paired with his competitor who he will later face in the ring.
When asked what inspired him to take part, Samuel commented:
“I decided to sign up for this event for two reasons, the first being to try and raise money for such a worthwhile charity and secondly to improve my fitness and show people that anyone can get in shape and live a healthier life. So far all the training is certainly pushing me to my limits and beyond, so whilst I am exhausted after each session, I feel much better for it already!”
Supported by TLH Colleagues
A black tie event, the night itself is a great excuse to get dressed up and enjoy a good night out. TLH colleagues, including two of our MD’s, have already pledged their support, buying tickets to watch Samuel and cheer him on ringside.
If you would like to attend on the night and support Samuel too, tickets can be purchased on the UWCB website. Remember when asked who you’re going to see enter ‘Samuel Fellows’.
