Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas in Torquay
Stuck for Valentine’s Day ideas which won’t break the bank? Here are a few great gift ideas from TLH Leisure Resort on how to spread the love further, without going into the red!
Affordable Dining with our 2 for 1 deal
A quick internet search will soon tell you where the best dining deals are in your area and most restaurants will be offering special Valentine’s packages. Just remember to check that they are available on Valentine’s Day itself though, one of the busiest days of the year for many restaurants. Our Aztec Bistro will be offering its usual 2 for 1 deal even on Valentine’s night. See our great menu choices.

Savings on Gifts
For something a bit personal, your special someone will be impressed with a spa treatment, especially if you can go together. The Aztec Spa offers spa days from as little as £39, you can really enjoy the experience together. If you’re still stuck for ideas, vouchers are always a fail-safe option. There are lots of other gift voucher ideas for any occasion too. There is also a special couples Valentine’s massage on offer with chocolates and Prosecco. Costing only £68, you can treat yourself as well as your Valentine!

Roses are… Very Expensive
Supply and demand mean red roses are always more expensive in the week running up to Valentine’s Day. And very often they are a disappointment – no scent and already browning by the time you get them. Different colour roses are just as lovely, or why not buy a miniature rose which will bloom again and again? To be honest most of us are thrilled to get flowers of any description, just beware petrol station purchases!
A Romantic Getaway
A night away needn’t be as expensive as you think. This year Valentine’s falls on a Wednesday but you can still book a weekend away. Look out for hotel deals online, or consider a weekend in Torquay and stay at the TLH Toorak Hotel for only £112pp for 2 nights dinner, bed & breakfast – the hotel is a child free zone over the weekend, so a little more conducive to romance! Take a walk around our lovely coastline too! If a short break isn’t an option, what about a day trip somewhere new or even a romantic walk on one of Torquay’s amazing beaches, followed by a steaming mug of hot chocolate at a local café?
Be creative
Think outside the box and you’ll discover that the cheapest treats can be the most thoughtful and romantic. You could make some vouchers promising your loved one a foot massage or to take on the cleaning chores for a week, or whatever you feel they would really value. Small gestures can mean us much as that expensive meal out.
Whether you’re organising or receiving a Valentine’s treat this year, enjoy the day and remember – ‘money can’t buy you love’…!

I went to Torquay for my anniversary 3 years ago and it was a lovely romantic place. There are many excellent restaurants, and it would be a great place to go for Valentine’s Day!
We’re glad you think so Lee. Thanks for the comment and thanks for reading our blog.
Hello Matt,
My husband and I are taking the kids away to Torquay in a couple of weeks. It’s not exactly related to your article I know, but can you recommend any family places to eat also? We are taking Granny and Grandad with us so I am hoping also to get away for a nice romantic evening somewhere as well 🙂 Thanks for the great article.
