TLH Derwent Hotel has a vacancy for 2nd Chef’s post. The Derwent Hotel is a 175 bedroom hotel and the restaurant and kitchen cater for up 425 guests.
We are looking for an experience and professional 2nd Chef that can demonstrate the following:
Ability to be able to cook and produce food to a high standard
Reliability and proven good track record of employment with in the kitchen environment.
Offer support the Head Chef, the Team of Chef’s, all kitchen and restaurant staff.
Able to work alongside the Head Chef, and follow instructions to ensure the smooth running of the operations and planning for the department.
To assist the Head Chef in achieving and managing financial targets.
Able to take over the operation of the kitchen when the Head Chef is absent
Good communication skills with appreciation of different cultures and employee diversity.
Good time management skills.
Assist in ordering, stock control and monitoring of deliveries of food stuffs.
Conversant in legislation regarding HACCP procedures for Food Hygiene and the monitoring of standards commensurate to the job role, so that paperwork and procedures can be completed correctly.
A good knowledge of safe operating procedure according to the Health and Safety at work Act.
Well managed personal Hygiene.
Monitor and check the work of others so standards are maintained.
Maintain staff training records and departmental training of new staff.
Understand and follow company policy and procedures, and lead by example.
Work wear is provided.
Hours of work: 42.5 hours over 5 days
Salary: £19.584.00 plus annual personal bonus and profit related bonus
