Platinum Jubilee Celebrations
It’s time to dig out those Union Jack hats, flags, suits and dresses and celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with us! We’re hosting four days of patriotic fun for the whole family, in what promises to kick-start the Summer season in royal style! We’ve got a packed programme of events taking place in our Resort as well as event highlights in the local area:
Thursday
- Trooping of the Colour in the Starlight Lounge on the big screen
- TLH Jubilee Party – Live entertainment, party dances, pool games and more outside the Aztec Bistro
- 9pm – Lighting of the Queen’s Jubilee Beacons (1,500 beacons nationally) on Corbyn Head (Torquay), Berry Head (Brixham), Shoalstone (Brixham), Daddyhole Plain (Torquay)
Friday
- 11am -10.30pm – Music on the Meadows – an amazing day and evening of entertainment for all the family
- BBQ on our Aztec Bistro Terrace
- KB Sounds – Street Party/Last Night of the Proms
- The Queen Platinum Jubilee service of Thanksgiving live on hotel lounge screens
Saturday
- Party at the Palace in the Starlight Lounge on the big screen
- English Riviera Air Show – Enjoy the action with panoramic views from our Aztec Bistro Terrace
- Jubilee Fun Day – Entertainment around our outdoor pool with live cabaret throughout the afternoon
Sunday
- TLH Jubilee Party – Live entertainment, party dances, pool games and more outside the Aztec Bistro
- English Riviera Air Show – Enjoy the action with panoramic views from our Aztec Bistro Terrace

Our resort
We love good times here at TLH Leisure Resort and if you do too, this is the break for you. You’re guaranteed a warm welcome, good food and great entertainment. There’s plenty to keep everyone happy with access to our amazing Aztec Leisure facilities throughout your stay, plus a range of daytime activities from our own TLH Entertainment Team. Our entertainment hub, the Starlight Lounge, is based in the TLH Derwent Hotel and plays host to some of the best local talent around.
Location
The TLH Leisure Resort hotels are only a 5-minute walk from Torquay seafront and marina so it’s easy to get out and about during the day. Make the most of the full English Riviera Airshow weekend lineup during your stay. In addition to the Airshow itself, there are fairground rides, an event village, a VIP Skybar and plenty of family fun to be had, all within easy access from our resort! With bus stops close by and the town centre only a short walk away, TLH Leisure Resort makes a great base for exploring.
Music on the Meadows
Music on the Meadows promises to be the biggest free party on Torre Abbey Meadows in Torquay in decades. Expect an amazing day and evening of entertainment for all the family, in celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Red, white and blue yourself up for the day and join us for a nostalgic musical odyssey through the decades of The Queen’s reign and don’t forget to grab a flag to wave.
The party will run from 11am right through until 10.30pm, featuring main stage music entertainment from the likes of South Devon Rock Choir, Funk City Band, John Matthew and Happy Days, with their spectacular Platinum Jubilee Show. There will also be party DJ sets from the McGowan Family and Chris Macmeikan MBE.
English Riviera Airshow
Torbay’s natural amphitheatre provides a unique and stunning location for the English Riviera Airshow – creating the perfect stage for a coastal event that kickstarts the UK’s Airshow season. Previous displays have hosted some world-class military and civilian air display teams, including the RAF Red Arrows, RAF Typhoon Display Team, RAF Tucano T1 and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, featuring the Hurricane, Spitfire and Dakota.
The 2022 English Riviera Air Show will take flight across the Jubilee Weekend over the stunning South Devon Bay. Our beloved airshow will be joined by a community event, ‘Music on the Meadows’, a Jubilee flotilla and the Queen’s Jubilee Beacons to bring together a weekend of celebrations.
