The stunning landscape of Torquay and the English Riviera is the perfect playground for your adventure weekend with paddle-boarding, sea kayaking, jet-skiing and coasteering. With rugged coastlines and hidden caves and crevices, there is so much more to Torquay for the more adventurous holiday maker!
Exploring the wonderful coastline of Torquay by kayak or paddle-board is a not-to-be-missed experience. Whether you are looking for wildlife, adventure or just plain fun, there are a variety of specialists who can help make it a safe and exhilarating occasion.
The South Devon coast is a sea kayaker’s paradise, with its many secluded and hidden beaches, spectacular cliffs and sea caves that can only be properly explored by kayak. Torbay is steeped in history and you can paddle past smugglers coves and ancient castles that have remained unchanged in thousands of years. With kayaks being virtually silent it allows you to get close up to all sorts of exciting wildlife… seals, dolphins, basking sharks and a whole array of amazing sea birds.
Coasteering is an exhilarating combined rock and water activity that can be delivered to every individual level which makes this activity suitable for those with no fear of heights or water as well as those who may not be quite so confident. During your Coasteering trip you will learn rock climbing and scrambling techniques as well as how to jump from great heights safely. Wearing sturdy footwear, wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets, participants travel along a section of coastline; sometimes swimming in the sea, sometimes scrambling on rocks and jumping from rocks into the sea. Because you will love it! As well as big thrills you will get to learn about the sea, how it works and you will definitely get a whole new perspective of our coastline, indeed, you will be exploring areas that very few people get the opportunity to!
Stand up paddle surfing and stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is an offshoot of surfing that originated in Hawaii. Unlike traditional surfing where the rider sits until a wave comes, stand up paddle boarders stand on their boards and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water. The quiet nature of paddle boarding makes it an excellent mode of transport to silently travel along the coastline giving the opportunity for wildlife spotting!
Torbay is one of the most popular venues in the UK for watercraft enthusiasts with its 22 miles of coastline to explore and easy striking distance to the three enclosed harbours of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. Taking part in a jet ski adventure on the English Riviera is a fantastic way to get out and about on the water. This high impact and high energy activity will surely blow those cobwebs away.
