September heralds the end of Summer, the beginning of Autumn, shorter days and darker nights. More importantly, it means that Strictly Come Dancing is back on our screens bringing Saturday night viewing back to life.
Yes – it’s time to polish up the glitter ball again, get out the sparkly frocks and sew on those sequins. The 2024 season of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing has launched with co-presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman hosting this year’s launch and welcoming new celebrity contestants to the dance floor.
This year’s Strictly Come Dancing line up
This year’s line up include Love Island alumnus Tasha Ghouri, EastEnders legend Jamie Borthwick and former England hockey star Sam Quek. In addition to those three, the line-up includes comedian Chris McCausland, JLS member JB Gill, singers Wynne Evans and Toyah Willcox and NHS and TV doctor Punam Krishan.
There are also spots for TV personality Pete Wicks, actors Shayne Ward and Sarah Hadland, Gladiators star Montell Douglas and Olympic Gold medal-winning swimmer Tom Dean while the cast is rounded out by presenter Nick Knowles and former Arsenal and England footballer Paul Merson.
Enjoy your own ‘Strictly’ moment
For many of us, Strictly Come Dancing is compulsive Saturday night viewing, but I wonder just how many of us wish we too could learn to dance like the celebrities? There may not be the huge television audiences or the judging panel (thank goodness!), but you can enjoy your own Strictly moment here at TLH Leisure Resort And if you’ve already started your dance journey, you can always come along to one of our great dance breaks where you can hone your new skills. DANCING BREAKS
You can also take a look at our calendar of dance breaks in our current issue of TLH Dancing Times. FIND OUT MORE
In the meantime, as we get ready for the start of the ‘Strictly’ season – who are you supporting? Will you be voting when the phone lines open in a few weeks or just bemoan the results if your favourite doesn’t get through? Whatever you do, make sure – in the words of the programme’s hosts – you “Keep dancing!”
