Things to do in Torquay – Splashdown Quaywest

18 July 2023

If you’re going to make a list of things to do in Torquay while you stay at the TLH Leisure Resort, be sure to have a few pages handy as there’s lots to do, come rain or shine. Not technically in Torquay but just a short 15 minute drive from the TLH Hotels is Splashdown Quaywest.

Splashdown Quaywest is the wettest, wildest attraction on the English Riviera. Great fun water slides, some laugh out loud fun and some will have you screaming.  Swimming pool area and plenty of space for enjoying the sun and, of course, the fantastic views of South Devon’s Beautiful Bay.

Choose from eight exciting flume rides. Jump on a tyre and ride the visitors’ favourites Surf Lagoon and Raging Rapids; these rivers are wild, so grab your tyre and hold on tight. Ride the rapids from one splash pool to the next and try not to capsize. You never know what’s around the next bend!  Dare you descend the famous Devil’s Drop? Near vertical drop and 15m from the top.

Explore the park

Welcome to Splashdown Quaywest, the UK’s BIGGEST outdoor waterpark. Idyllically placed on the English Riviera, with spectacular views and 8 adrenalin-pumping flume rides, slide outside on the sunny sands at Goodrington. You’ll be flumin’ back for more! Have a good look around before you visit with their great 360° tour

All that fluming can work up an appetite, dive into the restaurant to refuel or grab a cooling ice-cream. Meal Deals are available and can be booked online – that’s where to get the best price and to book your admission tickets.

Something for all ages

Our Submarine Adventure (depth 1 metre) play structure consisting of 2 small slides and water jets is perfect for little landlubbers aged 7 and under who may not be tall or confident enough to use the flumes. Or try Blennies Tiddler Pool (depth – 0.5m) Complete with a little slide our toddler splash pool is a play haven for little landlubbers aged 7 and under.

Lots more to do

  • Swimming AreaSituated in the heart of the park,  the 20m long swimming pool is 1.2m deep and perfect to chill and cool down after a hectic spell on the waterslides.
  • Gold Coast Amusement Arcade: A trip to the seaside always re-kindles childhood memories. Take the kid’s (or not) to relive your childhood in the slot machine arcade with all the classics, grab machines, 2 penny falls.
  • Sunrise and Beach Snack Shop:  Selling everything from refreshments to rubber rings; whether you’re buying an inflatable for the pool, a bucket and spade for the beach or an essential like sun cream – they’re bound to have it!
