With Torquay seafront just a 5 minute walk from TLH, Abbey Sands gives the opportunity for some food from fine dining to much more casual environments including some of the best restaurants in Torquay.
You may decide to take a walk into Torquay town centre itself for a wider range of food outlets including cafés, bars and takeaway restaurants. After you’ve had lunch and a quick rest, explore Fleet Walk Shopping Centre which is home to some of the best high street names together with a mix of specialist and independent shops.
Time again for your evening meal and how about following it with an evening stroll along the seafront or a walk along the beach. The level walk along to the harbour and marina offers an abundance of alfresco bars and pubs, so grab a table and enjoy the atmosphere. Whilst you’re in Torquay, the Princess Theatre have a full programme throughout the year so why not take in a show whilst you’re visiting.
Sunday – Time to check out but don’t go home just yet!
Sunday will come around all too quickly so after you’ve had breakfast its time to pack and vacate your room. But don’t be in a rush to leave the area as Torquay still has lots more to offer. We suggest a visit to the thatched village of Cockington. It is the perfect setting for a walk – no matter what time of year it is. It has picture-postcard cottages, a historic forge, horse and carriage rides, a court and church, tea rooms, thatched pub and the lakes and woods. Of course you can’t be in Devon and not have a Devon Cream Tea – but don’t forget… it’s cream first then jam!
